Hello again, and welcome back to Sonia Voyage!🌻
Don't forget to have a drink, okay? I want all readers who come here to be healthy and happy❤
Today, I’m sharing a poem that dives into the raw, intense emotions of betrayal and self-discovery. Have you ever placed your trust in someone, only to have them let you down in the worst possible way? If you have, you know just how deep that pain can cut.
In my poem "Cutted Rope," I explore what it feels like to invest in a relationship, whether it’s a friendship, partnership, or any kind of bond, only to watch it unravel right before your eyes. It’s about that moment when you realize the person you trusted isn’t who you thought they were, and the strength it takes to let go and move forward on your own.
Writing this poem was a cathartic experience for me, as it allowed me to process and express the emotions that come with betrayal. It’s not just about the hurt; it’s about finding the resilience within yourself to keep climbing, even when the rope is frayed and the journey ahead seems daunting.
Cutted Rope
by Uni Sonia Yulianti
I gave you the rope
And start to trust you dope
Intended to hold on to the climb
Helping to reach the top of the mountain
But you rub it with a rock
Makes it weak and thin
Don't know that you're going down
Fell and covered by red rain
You shatter my core
While I struggle with the decor
An overly to caring folly
Making this climb even more creeply
I don't give a crap
I will push you without wrapped
leave you alone and die
And I'm climbing myself on a broken rope
ANALYSIS OF THE POEM
"I gave you the rope And start to trust you dope"
The speaker initially offers their trust and support to someone, symbolized by the "rope." The use of "dope" can be interpreted as a casual, perhaps affectionate reference to the other person, but it also carries an undertone of foolishness, hinting at the speaker's later realization that this trust may have been misplaced.
"Intended to hold on to the climb Helping to reach the top of the mountain"
The speaker intended to rely on this person for support, believing that together they could achieve great things ("reach the top of the mountain"). The "climb" symbolizes a shared goal or journey that requires mutual effort and trust.
"But you rub it with a rock Makes it weak and thin"
The person the speaker trusted has, through their actions or behavior, weakened the bond between them. The "rock" symbolizes obstacles or harmful actions that have worn down the "rope" of trust, making it fragile and unreliable.
"Don't know that you're going down Fell and covered by red rain"
The other person is unaware of the consequences of their actions, specifically, that they are causing their own downfall ("going down"). The imagery of "red rain" likely symbolizes blood or violence, suggesting a painful or destructive end for this person, possibly as a result of their betrayal or negligence.
"You shatter my core While I struggle with the decor"
The speaker's fundamental sense of trust and stability ("core") has been shattered by the betrayal or actions of the other person. The "decor" could symbolize the superficial aspects or appearances they try to maintain despite the deep emotional turmoil they feel inside.
"I don't give a crap I will push you without wrapped"
The speaker has reached a point of indifference and anger, deciding they no longer care about the person who betrayed them. "Pushing without wrapped" implies a harsh, unprotected action, possibly letting the person fall or face the consequences of their actions without any further support.
"Leave you alone and die And I'm climbing myself on a broken rope"
The speaker chooses to abandon the person who betrayed them, leaving them to face their fate alone ("and die"). Despite the broken state of the "rope", symbolizing damaged trust or a difficult situation, the speaker resolves to continue their journey on their own, determined to survive and succeed even with the odds stacked against them.
Overall Analysis
The poem "Cutted Rope" delves into themes of trust, betrayal, and self-reliance. The "rope" serves as a central metaphor for the bond of trust between the speaker and another person. Initially strong and reliable, this bond is gradually weakened by the other person's harmful actions, represented by the "rock." The speaker realizes that their trust was misplaced and that the person they relied on has not only failed them but is also responsible for their own downfall.
As the poem progresses, the speaker's tone shifts from one of trust and cooperation to one of anger, disillusionment, and determination. The speaker decides to sever ties with the betrayer, leaving them to face the consequences of their actions alone. Despite the "broken rope", a symbol of the damaged relationship and the challenges ahead, the speaker resolves to continue their climb, now relying solely on themselves.
The poem powerfully captures the emotional journey from trust to betrayal, and ultimately, to self-reliance and resilience. It reflects the painful realization that sometimes, in order to move forward, we must let go of those who have weakened us, even if it means facing a more difficult path on our own.

So, what do you think? "Cutted Rope" is more than just a poem about betrayal, it’s a testament to the strength we all have within us to overcome setbacks and continue our journey, even when it feels like the ground is crumbling beneath our feet.
If you’ve ever been in a situation where someone you trusted let you down, I hope this poem resonates with you and reminds you that you have the power to keep moving forward, no matter how tough things get. Writing about these experiences can be incredibly healing, and I encourage you to do the same. Whether you’re dealing with something similar now or have in the past, putting those feelings into words can help you process and find the strength to move on.
